| President Lew KC0UER called the meeting to order at 7:07 p.m. There were 23members present, along with four guests. New Ham Dan Koine KD0DRV joined the club tonight, welcome Dan. Len from Australia, a houseguest of KI0KY was welcomed. Marcie W0QE from Minneapolis was again a visitor. |

| Last months minutes were published on the web site. It was moved by Dave KE0OG and seconded by Bill WB0CQZ. Minutes were approved unanimously. |
| TREASURER'S REPORT |
| Treasurer Lanay was absent recovering from foot service. Dues are coming in still need some. We are now members of the Colo. Council of amateur radio Clubs. Tax records have been updated with the state of Colorado. |

| Bill KC0QXX mentioned the evening's program from KI0KY on his trip to Nicaragua. |
| ACTIVITY REPORT

| Chris WB0ITG was absent. Vern KC0NMP reported that we will be set up tomorrow at the Oxbow Shopping center for the Montrose Emergency Services Fair from 0900 to 1500. The Club trailer along with a van that KC0GKZ has equipped will be on hand. |
| ARES DISTRICT 25 REPORT |
| Ron KC0GKZ reported that ARES would be at the Safety Fair. He is still recruiting members. The state organization is working on getting things set up for the Democratic Convention, and they expect it to be a real mess. The bridge watch will start up around the first of May so we need volunteers for this event. |

| Vern KC0NMP reported that the Safety Fair is the biggie for now. He attended a meeting in Montrose put on by the county, they are getting their Ducks in row. |
| PRESIDENT'S REPORT |
| Lew KC0UER showed a new member kit that he had received from the ARRL, nice brochures and handouts. The kit was free but he paid the 14 dollars shipping. Ron KC0GKZ moved that the club reimburse him this expense, Dave KE0OG seconded, approved. |
| COMMITTEE REPORTS |
| Royce stated that Field Days planning is up and running. Lew will get all the news releases and paperwork done prior to leaving for vacation just before field days. There may not be any Frisbee golfers this year, so we should have the whole hilltop. June 28-29, be there!

| Steve KI0KY reported that there will be a special event station set up for the Paonia Cherry Days in Paonia on July 4th. All Hams are invited to participate.

| TREASURER'S REPORT |
| Treasurer Lanay KC5QBH reported that she has done an audit of our treasury and it is in good shape. Copies were passed out. She had some questions about some cash deposits, some were figured out in the meeting and a couple she will get with the last Treasurer and figure out. She will be applying for tax exempt status, with this folks who contribute to our club can use the donation for tax exception. All bills are paid. Steve KI0KY moved to accept the Treasurers report Joe N0GYP seconded, passed. |
| VICE PRESIDENT'S REPORT |
| Bill KC0QXX mentioned the evenings program on Fox Hunting. He would like to get some fox hunts started for the Club. He has built a small 2-meter fox transmitter. Next months program will be by KI0KY on his trip to Nicaragua. Bill is still in need of programs for meetings. |
| ACTIVITY REPORT

| Chris WB0ITG reported that club members installed a new Digipeater at the Cedaredge Repeater site above Cedaredge. This machine is on 145.010 mhz and will be used for practice by our packet team. It is open for all members to use. This machine is made up of member donated equipment. We will use it to get our packet team up and running for the Hard Rock Run plus other events where packet and other digital modes can be used to help transfer information faster and easier. He ask that the club donate 30 ft. of coax and a couple of connectors to the project. This was approved. |
| ARES DISTRICT 25 REPORT |
| Ron KC0GKZ has accepted the appointment as ARES EC for Dist25 and he is in the process of getting things organized. |
| RACES REPORT - KI0MR - KC0NMP |
| Vern KC0NMP reported that there will be an emergency Services Fair in Montrose on April 19th. We hope to take our MCC trailer and maybe some members portable units to this show. We will also use the opportunity to showcase Ham Radio to the public. All members are encouraged to participate. Delta County RACES along with ARES and SKYWARN will be there too. |

| Sherry KC0OIM had the club scrapbooks on display. She said that she is short of photos from 2003 to present. She ask members to donate photos of club activities. She has equipment to scan the photos so she will return the originals if requested. Please attach a tag or a note on the back of the photo as to who is in it and what they are doing. Things like, who, what, when, where and why!
It was ask if the club trailer will be ready for the April 19th event. It is at Steve KI0MR's place. He and Joe N0GYP will be working on the interior improvements, and it should be ready to go.
Lew KC0UER reported that a new tape is available from ARRL for FD usage, he will look into it.
Dave KE0OG will be conducting a Jpole constructing class in Montrose, details to follow.

| Chris WB0ITG and Bill KC0QXX presented a program on fox hunting and demonstrated a fox transmitter that Bill has constructed. Antennas were shown and discussed that are used in Fox Hunting. Several members expressed intrest in getting a fox hunt together in the near future.

| Chris reported on some upcoming contests on HF. There will be C.E. R. T. training in Montrose in early April, see Vernon KC0NMP for details. April 22-25 will be some ICS training in Grand Junction, see RACES Officers for more info. Bob KJ0G reported that this weekend is the ARRL nation wide CW contest, he invited everyone to get involved. |

| The new roll of coax is in, so we have a new 500 feet of LMR 400.
The floor was opened for elections for Officers for 2008. Lew KC0UER was elected President, Bill KC0QXX Vice President, with Ron KC0GKZ elected Secretary and Lanay KC5QBH, Treasurer, and Chris WB0ITG for Activities director.
Royce AA0JD Reported that we need to work on the club generator for Field Day it is trying to eat its muffler and almost caused a fire last year. He will get with Terry N0XMI and they will try to resolve the problem.
May 17th was approved for our annual Tail Gate Party at the Lions Pavilion in Delta. Chairman Bill WB0ITG is going to approach our VE Chairman about having testing this year. That might draw a few more folks.

| The District Frequency plan is in the process of being updated, and hopefully several training excersizes will be forthcoming. |

| Steve KI0MR Delta County RO, and Vern KC0NMP Montrose County RO reported that the new ID cards for Montrose County are in. These were distributed to RACES Members. Last part of April will be some ICS training in GJ, he will keep folks informed. |

It was approved to have our Christmas party again at Heddles Rec Center in Delta.
